I employ the history and metaphors surrounding textile practices to study a diverse range of topics, including environmentalism, medical ethics, microbiology and gender. Through this lens, I look for simple solutions with far-reaching ripple effects, seeking beauty in every corner.

Craft Project Design

My designs are classics with a twist. Having owned a craft supply store, I know that customers want to invest their creative time and dollars in making what will become treasured heirlooms. Sources for inspiration include ethnic and historic textiles, vintage ceramics and formal gardens.

Crafting Education

Befuddled by how to knit a glove? Not a problem! Want to needlepoint a rug for your living room? Everyone is creative. You can do it, let me show you how! I offer workshops and private lessons for children and adults in Chicago and across the United States. Online classes are coming soon!

Greetings! Thank you for visiting my website. I’ve been stitching, painting, knitting and otherwise making since childhood. Both parents were what you might call crafty individuals, but it was my grandmothers who encouraged and indulged my passion for all things textile.

These days I live in Chicago with my daughter Emily and two zany dogs, Josie and Tooney in a tiny brick bungalow surrounded by an overgrown garden.
